Probably the most obvious and immediate draw to any betting site is its welcome offer. A fantastic new customer promotion alone will be enough to hook a surprising number of potential customers. For this reason, an above-average welcome offer will improve a PayPal betting site’s ranking with us by a considerable amount.
We present this as its own aspect because it doubles as a Public Service Announcement for those not in the know: the majority of betting sites, even those that accept PayPal, do NOT allow PayPal to be used for whatever welcome offer or bonus they give. This puts a soft or hidden requirement on the user to register using some other payment option than PayPal, at least if they want to make use of the welcome offer (which, of course, they do). Only a very small selection of betting sites allow new customers to use PayPal to access their welcome offer, and so for those PayPal betting sites that do offer this, we increase our estimation of them considerably.
A great betting site will maintain its customer satisfaction and retention by offering a variety of other bonuses. These might include free bets, spins, or tickets; regular jackpots; and regularly boosted odds. A PayPal betting site will do well in our estimation if it offers a plentiful variety of such bonuses.
This is the most blatantly obvious and binary aspect on our list, but this makes it arguably the most important one. If a site is one of those increasingly rare ones that does not accept PayPal, it simply cannot be included in our ranking.
The flexibility of being able to only deposit exactly as much money as you want to your favourite PayPal betting site is certainly a benefit that we look out for when ranking these sites. The best PayPal betting sites in this respect allow minimum PayPal deposits as low as £5, and the flexibility that this affords bettors results in a boost to a site’s ranking with us. Some sites offer restrictive minimum PayPal deposits of up to £20, and such sites may see a reduced ranking for this reason.
Imagine it: you’ve finally done it. You’ve hit the jackpot. You’ve had that incredibly low-odds bet come through – but there’s a withdrawal limit. You can’t actually access your winnings because you can only access a fraction of it at a time. While this isn’t exactly an everyday scenario, it can still be a consideration for those who like to splash their cash. Some sites actually have no upper limit on withdrawals, so any miracle jackpots or large and successful bets can be benefitted from immediately. As with the previous aspect, the more flexibility that a site affords its users, the higher we will rank it.
In general usage, PayPal offers instant or near-instant transfers of money by default. This incredible functionality does not always transfer to PayPal betting sites. The most luddite sites may even offer PayPal while retaining the now-antiquated standards of yesteryear that insist on imposing withdrawal times of a week or more on its customers. Needless to say, those PayPal betting sites that fully utilise their technology by offering speedy (or, in the best cases, instant) withdrawal times get a hefty boost in our evaluation.
A PayPal betting site that is a beloved household name, ubiquitously known for its gold standards of reliability, earns big points in this category, as does a newer site that has made a name for itself by utilising the newest and best security and safety technologies.
Seamless, fluid UX and sensible, beautiful UI can cause a user to determine that a particular site has the best ‘feel’, perhaps without even realising why. Great UX and UI will give a site the sense of professionalism, speed, and smoothness that may put that site above the others in the estimation of a user. For this reason, UX and UI both have a significant impact on our evaluation of PayPal betting sites.
It seems that every day, our world becomes increasingly reliant upon smartphones. Every day, therefore, it becomes more inexcusable for a PayPal betting site not to offer its own app. At the very least, we expect sites to offer a site that is excellently optimised for mobile. The best PayPal betting sites, on the other hand, not only offer a bespoke app: they offer an app that contains all of the functionality of the desktop, elegantly minified with intuitive usability, beautiful design, and cutting-edge mobile features. Sites that offer such an app will score lots of points from us.
Increasingly, bettors expect to be able to watch the event on which they are betting, in the context of their bookkeeper and their bet(s). For many people, the fun and immersion of this kind of experience is the whole reason that they want to bet in the first place. Therefore, we look positively on sites that offer a good variety of live streaming.
Finally: customer service. It goes without saying that a PayPal betting site that offers a broad range of responsive, friendly, and (preferably) always-available help and assistance will score highly in our evaluation. A site that offers great customer service and is known to have great support for PayPal specifically will, of course, score even better.

Grosvenor PayPal Betting
Pros:
Cons:
One of the most important things you should consider, when looking for a new betting site, is the way they handle banking. Grosvenor have become one of the UK’s most popular betting sites, so what can they offer you in this regard?
There are several payment types accepted here, so the should be something here that works for you. For example, they accept several eWallets, including PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, and more. If you want to use a debit card, you can use either a Visa or a MasterCard. You can also use direct bank transfers, if you so wish.
The minimum deposit here is just £5, which is perfect for those who like to bet on a budget. The minimum withdrawal is also £5 here. These small limits allow those who like to bet on smaller budgets to still be involved. You will need to be aware though, that if you’re looking to claim certain bonuses on the sites, you will need to deposits more than that minimum.
Something to note, is that the site do charge fees for withdrawing your winnings. That is a shame to see, as so many betting sites will not do this. If you do sign up, be aware that the max fee you will be charged is £5. Also, there are no deposit fees charged here.
We like that the site accepts so many different payment types, as it makes it very easy for you to get signed up and start betting. Plus, as they accept PayPal, it makes the whole process very quick and easy. Why are the sights do charge withdrawal fees, all deposits will have no fees attached. You can get up and running right away as a member here.
Ladbrokes
Pros:
Cons:
Ladbrokes are one of the most respected betting sites around right now. As they are so well established, you will be expecting a lot from them if you are signing up with them now. That’s especially true when it comes to their banking system. Is it easy to make your first deposit and get started here?
Firstly, you will see they accept quite a large range of payment options for both deposits and withdrawals. Right now, they accept Visa and Mastercard, as well as Maestro debit cards. You’ll also be able to use a range of eWallets, including PayPal, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller, and Paysafe. Bank transfers are also available to be used, but you will see they are only available for withdrawals.
That list of payment options should cover everything that you may want to use here. It’s impressive that they have both PayPal and Apple Pay available here. You may sometimes find ether PayPal or Apple Pay on a betting site, but it’s very rare to see both. That’s great for you as a new member, as it gives you even more choice.
You’ll also find that the minimum withdrawal and deposit here can be as low as £5. If you are using PayPal, Neteller, or bank transfers, then the minimum does go up to £10 so be aware of that. Even so, those minimums are kept very low for you which is great to see.
Ladbrokes have a lot to offer you in terms of betting, and their banking system is as high quality as you would expect. It’s impressive to see that they accept both PayPal and Apple Pay, giving them members more choice.
Bet UK
Pros:
Cons:
One thing you need to know when looking into any new betting sites, is what payment types they accept from members. If you’re thinking of signing up with Bet UK, what will the accept from you and how easy is it to make transactions here?
Firstly, you will see that you can use a few different payments here on the site. They accept debit cards such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as bank transfers and PayPal. This is quite a limited amount of payment options, as on many betting sites out there you will see lots of different payment types accepted. However, the payment types here are the ones that most members will be looking for.
It’s great to see that they accept PayPal, as this is not as common on betting sites as you would think. Plus, PayPal will only sign up with sites that they deem to be trustworthy, so that makes it a great sign for this betting site.
You’ll find here that the minimum deposit needed is just £10, so you won’t need to deposit much to start bettering here as a member. The minimum withdrawal is also £10, and typically this should be processed within one to five days when making a withdrawal to a debit card. If you make your withdrawal to PayPal however that payment should be with you within 24 hours.
The payment system here at Bet UK is one of the easiest ones to use. As they accept PayPal as a payment option, it could not be easier to get up and running as a member here. Sign up now, and you can be bettering within minutes thanks to this banking system.
Luckster Sport
Pros
Cons
Luckster Casino is a new entrant into the betting market with the site only being established in 2021. Moreover, Luckster Sport is even newer, with the sports betting site being founded just in 2022! The site offers betting on a wide range of sports including football, horse racing, and tennis. This article will give a short review of PayPal betting with Luckster sport. We will discuss the minimum deposits and withdrawals required, how safe the site is, and much more!
A huge advantage of using PayPal as a payment method on Luckster Sports is that withdrawals and deposits are so simple on the site! Using PayPal allows for instant deposits into your account, letting you get straight into the action. This is much quicker than more traditional payment methods such as Bank transfers, which can take a matter of days. Withdrawals take between 0-2 days on the site, which is one of the quickest times out there. This allows you to get the money you win back into your account nearly instantly! Moreover, the site also has extremely low minimum and deposits of just €10 for Irish customers! This is lower than PayPal on other sites which can be as high as €20. So, if you’re looking for quick and easy transactions, you should use PayPal on Luckster Sport.
Another plus of using PayPal on Luckster Sport is how reliable and safe the site is. With PayPal being the biggest e-wallet globally, the online payment site offers extremely robust security. If you’re having any issues with your account, you can instantly get in contact with PayPal to get the issue resolved. One slight disadvantage comes on Luckster Sport’s end, with the site not offering 24/7 customer support. However, overall using PayPal on Luckster Sport is extremely reliable.
TonyBet PayPal Betting
Pros
Cons
Previously known as Tony G, TonyBet has been around since 2009 and is one of the more established betting sites. The site offers a range of products, including betting on a huge number of sports and live casino games. This article will give a short review of betting using PayPal on TonyBet. We will consider transaction times, reliability, and the minimum deposits and withdrawals when using PayPal on TonyBet.
One of the biggest advantages to using PayPal as a payment option on TonyBet is that the minimum deposits and withdrawals are fairly decent compared to other payment options. When placing bets on a site, sometimes you may only want to deposit and withdraw small amounts into your account. Using PayPal with TonyBet supports this preference, with minimum deposits and withdrawals being just £10! This is lower than some other sites that only offer £20, and much lower than Bank Transfers where the minimum is £100! Therefore, a huge plus with using PayPal is the minimum deposits and withdrawals!
Another great advantage of using PayPal to make transfers on TonyBet is that transactions are almost instant on the site. When betting on TonyBet, deposits and withdrawals are instant! This is not true for other payment methods such as debit cards and Bank transfers. This allows you to instantly get in on the betting action and then get money into your account instantly!
Moreover, with PayPal being such an established site, betting with PayPal is extremely safe and reliable compared to other payment options. Being the biggest e-wallet available, PayPal has incredible customer support and the best security out there. This means that if you have any issues with your payments, then you can instantly get in contact and sort it out!
Betfred is one of the more established and traditional names in the betting industry. Established in 1967, the bookmaker has seamlessly transitioned to the online betting world over the past two decades. The site is now one of the most popular online betting sites in the US and Europe and specialises in online sports betting. This article will give a short review of PayPal betting on Betfred, considering the speed of withdrawals and deposits, minimum deposits, and if there are any hidden fees!
One of the primary advantages of using PayPal on Betfred is that there are no withdrawal or deposit fees when using the site. One of the most frustrating aspects of using e-wallets is that some sites will charge hidden fees at the last second! PayPal is great in this regard, with the established e-wallet never charging you unnecessary fees. Therefore, if you’re looking for a great payment method with no hidden fees, you should use PayPal on Betfred.
Another great advantage of using PayPal as a payment option on Betfred is that the minimum deposit and withdrawals are very low. If you’re just looking to put on a small bet for a bit of fun, you may just want to deposit or withdraw a small amount. With Betfred, you can deposit as low as £5 on your account! This is much lower than the majority of sites where a minimum deposit for PayPal is usually £10. Therefore, if you’re looking for a site that supports small deposits and withdrawals, you should use PayPal on Betfred.
One small disadvantage of using PayPal on Betfred over other payment options is that transaction times can be slightly slower. While PayPal is much quicker than traditional payment options such as Bank Transfer, some newer e-wallets such as Neteller and Skrill can be slightly quicker. However, overall PayPal is a great payment option when using Betfred!
Thinking of signing up with LiveScore to do all your online betting? There will be some things that you need to know about them, before you take the plunge. Are they the right betting site for you?
One of the top reasons why people sign up with them is because they have an excellent promos section. They have all the regular deals that you would expect, as well as their Squads game. This is a free game that all members can play. If the cards they’re given match players who have scored in a given time frame, they’ll be awarded bonuses absolutely free. It’s a great take on the typical loyalty system, one that many will appreciate.
When it comes to the more practical details, many would be new members will be happy to see PayPal is accepted as a payment option. Not every betting site will accept it, and so you’ll be able to make your first deposit and get betting quickly here.
While it is good to see PayPal as an option, there aren’t a lot of others. You can use a debit card like Visa or MasterCard, or you can use Trustly as an eWallet. It would be better to see more options here, so you have more choice.
If you like to bet on the go, you also have the option to bet using the site’s apps. These are available on iOS and Android, and give you all the functionality that the site offers you.

Kwiff are fast making a name for themselves as a sports betting site. While the sports are the heart of what they do, you want to know that they’re offering a solid betting experience. Here’s what you need to know.
Firstly, when you visit the site you’ll see that they offer a really well made site experience. Load times are fast so you’re never waiting around, and the layout is modern and clean. They keep the site uncluttered too, so you’ll never find it hard to find the bet you want to make.
As for payments, you can make payments using a variety of different methods. That includes debit cards, and eWallets such as PayPal. That makes signing up and betting here so easy, as you’ll be able to attach your PayPal account and be ready to go within minutes.
There is a great in play betting system here too, one that many punters will be looking for. Here, you can bet on a variety of games as and when they happen. There’s a lot of market depth in these games, so you can find the best bet at the best time.
The one downside to the live in play betting is that there isn’t currently any live streaming available with it. It’s not a huge problem, as you can easily watch games elsewhere as you bet, but it is something that would be nice to have here.
As a betting site, Kwiff has made it very easy to get started and get betting here. With great site design and lots of different ways to make a deposit, including PayPal, you’ll be ready to bet in no time at all. You’ll soon see why so many other punters are already signed up.
With so many different betting sites hitting the market right now, you’ll be wondering if BetTarget is the best one for you. There are lots of reasons why you may want to sign up with them, so let’s take a look.
Firstly, one of the best benefits of this site is that you can use one of many different payment options here. That includes debit cards like Visa and MasterCard, as well as direct bank transfers, and eWallets like PayPal.
Having PayPal in particular available is a really good sign, as that shows that the site is fully trustworthy. PayPal won’t partner with a site if they don’t feel they’re legit, so that gives you more peace of mind when signing up here.
When you first sign up you’ll be able to claim a good welcome offer, where you’ll be given a £10 free bet. That’s a great offer especially for people who are just looking around, and want to try the site out. With this offer, you’ll be able to give them a try with a bit of free cash from them.
While the welcome offer is good, there aren’t a lot of other offers available here yet. That is common on betting sites that have only just got set up, as they’ll still be finding their feet. Hopefully, we’ll see more offers being added to the site soon, to reward members that come back and bet regularly.
If you’re looking for a good betting site that takes PayPal, and has a great welcome offer for you, then BetTarget will be the way to go. They have lots of markets and great prices, so you can bet in a way that suits you, when you want to.
HeySpin are just one of new PayPal betting sites that have been set up in recent years, and so they have to compete against a lot of other, top betting sites. Can they offer you benefits that you can enjoy?
You’ll see right away that if you sign up, you can use a wide range of payment options to make your first deposit and that’s one reason we rank them as one of the best betting sites. That includes PayPal, as well as several other eWallet options, and debit cards like Visa and MasterCard. As there are so many options here, you can use the one that suits you best.
You’ll also see that they have a wide range of sports covered, with great market depth. There’s all the top sports like horse racing and football, as well as some more niche games like winter sports, eSports and speedway. With so much choice, you’re going to find the sport markets that suit you best.
There’s also a great welcome offer ready and waiting for you, where you can claim a £10 free bet if you deposit and bet £15 here. That’s a great offer specifically for people who just want to try the site out, without putting a lot of cash into it.
However, it’s worth pointing out that you can’t claim the welcome offer if you make the first deposit through PayPal. That’s less than ideal, as that is the way a lot of new members will want to pay. The fact that Paypal is not eligible as a method for claiming free bets could be an issue
Overall, HeySpin Betting is a good option if you want choice and it is one of the best PayPal sports betting sites out there. There’s lots of choice when it comes to sports markets, payment types, and promos too. With so much available to you, you can make just the right bet every time.
With so much competition out there, The Pools needs to be able to offer an excellent betting experience for you. What makes them worth signing up with, and what can they give you?
As the name implies, the site offers pools betting, which isn’t something you can get with a lot of other betting sites. This allows you to take advantage of this different betting method, and really get the most out of the betting experience.
They do also offer regular betting on a wide range of sports, from top popular sports like football and horse riding to more niche sports like pool, MMA and so on. You can even take advantage of some virtual sports and politics markets too, if you’re looking for something different.
You can also take advantage of a surprising amount of deals here, that allow you to get the very most out of betting on the site. That includes a great welcome offer for new members, as well as lots of regular deals to take advantage of.
One of the issues with the site is how it handles payments. While the banking system is easy enough to use, you’ll see that the payment options accepted are rather limited. You can use a debit card such as Visa or MasterCard, as well as direct bank payments.
PayPal is an option that a lot of punters want to use thanks to its simplicity and thankfully The Pools accepts it.
PayPal Rules: Bet365 has PayPal as one of its preferred payment methods. Most transactions are completed within 24 hours which means there is only a short wait for the funds to clear, this makes it one of our favourite PayPal bookmakers. The minimum deposit is £10 and there are no transaction fees when using PayPal. You must have a verified PayPal account before depositing.
Welcome offer: New UK customers can get £50 in free bets after betting £10 or more at minimum odds of 1.20 or more. Your bet must settle within 30 days of opening your account to qualify for the free bets and they must be used before they expire.
Parimatch has fast become a popular option when it comes to betting, thanks to a lot of great features. If you’re interested in signing up with them, what can you expect to see here?
On a practical level, you’ll see that they offer a variety of payment options, including debit cards and eWallets and PayPal is one such wallet you’ll find here. Seeing PayPal here is always a good sign, as they don’t work with any betting site unless they think they’re trustworthy. As such, you can be sure that you’re in safe hands here.
As they allow you to use these eWallet options, that does make winning withdrawals quite speedy too. While card withdrawals will take up to 5 business days in some cases, you’ll get money back into your PayPal account much quicker overall. That allows you to start enjoying those winnings right away.
For new members, there is a really good welcome bonus ready and waiting for you. If you sign up and bet just £5, you’ll get £30 in free bets. To get the £30, you’ll need to sign up, make that £5 bet, and then the free bet will show up in your account. This usually shows up as two £10 free bets, and a £10 slots bonus for their casino site. This is a generous offer, and more than a lot of other sites can offer.
Be aware though, if you’re going to take advantage of this offer then any eWallet deposit won’t be accepted for it. That’s not going to be ideal for those that want to pay through PayPal rather than their card. You can, of course, use a card for that first deposit and then switch to eWallets moving forward. You’ll also need to be aware that while the minimum bet for the offer is just £5, you’ll need to deposit at least £10 when you sign up.
As an online bookmaker, Parimatch are one of the best ones on the market right now. They’ve become popular, in part, thanks to the fact that they can accept big eWallets like PayPal for payments. That will ensure that you can pay in a way that suits you, and process payments quickly and easily. If they sound like the betting site for you, sign up with them now and try them out.
Highbet are one of the newer betting sites on the market, having been launched in 2021. Even in this short time frame though, they’ve managed to accumulate a lot of dedicated members. What is it that makes them a good pick for your betting needs?
Something that a lot of members love is the fact that they accept PayPal. While it’s the biggest eWallet on the market, one that a lot of people use daily, not every betting site uses it. Here though, you can use it to get your account up and running within minutes. That’s a massive bonus to start with. Alongside PayPal, the site accepts debit cards, bank transfers, and other eWallet options like Trustly, MuchBetter, and Paysafecard.
Typically you shouldn’t have any issues making transactions or using the site, but if you do then you can get in touch with the customer service team here. They’re reachable via live chat or email, and the team are always ready to lend you a hand. The only drawback is that they’re not 24/7, so there will be times when you can’t get in touch. If you need to know more, the FAQ covers a lot, including everything you need to know about using PayPal here.
Once you’ve signed up and made a deposit of £10 or more, then you’ll be able to claim the welcome offer here too. This gives you a £10 free bet if you bet £10 on the site, at odds of 1/1 or higher. Once the bet has been settled, you’ll have the free bet in your account.
While the offer itself is really good, be aware that you can’t claim it if you deposit with an eWallet such as PayPal. As such, it’s not going to be great for those that want to make payments through platforms such as these.
Overall though, Highbet are a really good option for anyone that wants a reliable, easy to use betting service. It starts as soon as you make your first deposit, and having the ability to use several different options like PayPal helps a lot. PayPal transactions are fast at Highbet and we’d recommend them to most bettors. If you want to give them a try, now’s the time to claim the welcome offer and see what they can do.
PayPal rules: Vegasland Sports offers both PayPal as deposit and withdrawal method, currently they offer instant deposits and withdrawals take 0-2 business days. Currently PayPal payments are only supported in GBP and there is a minimum cash out/withdrawal amount of £10.
Mr.Play has been around for a few years now, having been launched near the end of 2017. Ever since then they’ve seen a lot of success in the betting market, and many have made it their betting home. Let’s see what it is that makes them a good choice.
Firstly, the banking system is very easy to use. As soon as you sign up for the site, you’ll be able to get your first deposit made in moments. The minimum deposit here is just £10, so you won’t need a lot of cash in order to get started here. As soon as the deposit has been made, you’ll be able to start betting here. That makes it one of the best places to get started and make bets.
Withdrawals, of course, will take a little longer to come to your bank account. Depending on the payment method you use, you could be waiting up to 8 working days for the money to reach you. That is a little longer than other sites make you wait, so you’ll want to keep that in mind.
The withdrawal times do depend on the payment method you use though, so picking the right one will shorten the wait period. For example, they allow PayPal, and your wait times using them will be a lot shorter than others. There are other benefits of using them too, such as ease of use as they’re such a common and well used eWallet online. This is accepted alongside other eWallets too, such as Skrill and Neteller, so you have lots of options.
Want to make those deposits last longer? Then you can get more by using the promotions that they offer on the site. These include boosts that give you up to 77% more on acca bets, pulse betting, and player pros, that let you bet on a specific player’s performance. As there are always some promos being offered, there should be something here that suits your needs.
With so much on offer, it’s not hard to see why Mr.Play has become one of the most popular places to bet online. As they accept PayPal, it’s very easy to get signed up and ready to play here. Try them out now, and see just what they can offer you.

32Red Sports are one of the more established UK bookmakers out there. Having been launched in 2002, they’ve had a long time to get their product just right. What is it that makes them the betting site for you?
As you’d expect from a more established bookie, they’re able to accept a bigger range of payment options than most, and this includes the fact they offer PayPal. That includes debit cards like Visa and MasterCard, bank transfers, and eWallets like PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz, and Paysafecard to name a few.
It’s good to see PayPal on this list. Even though they’re one of the biggest eWallets out there, you won’t always see them on betting sites. That’s because they won’t partner with a site unless they believe that they’re trustworthy. That’s a good signal to you that this site is what it says it is.
Another benefit of the banking system here is that the site can process deposits and withdrawals very quickly. All deposits are handled right away, so you’ll be able to deposit and start betting on the site as soon as possible. Once you’re ready to withdraw your cash, you’ll see it takes up to 5 business days. It’s a lot quicker with PayPal and other eWallets, as these can get your cash to you in just 12 hours, if not sooner. Whatever kind of transaction you’re making, you’ll see that there’s no fees on any of them.
Once you’ve made that deposit, you’ll want to make the most of it. You can find all kinds of bonuses through the site’s promos section. That includes a welcome offer that gives you a profit boost if you make your first deposit and win. The more you bet, the more you’ll get back on that win.
That’s a great offer, but be aware that you won’t get any bonuses if you make your first deposit using an eWallet, including PayPal. Keep that in mind when you’re signing up and depositing cash to bet.
BetDukes have been making a name for themselves in the last few years, as one of the newer betting sites on the market. Just because they’re newer, does that mean that they’re a good option for you?
As a betting platform they have made it as easy as possible for you to make your bets, as they accept a good range of payment options. That includes both PayPal and Apple Pay, which is really great to see. A lot of sites only accept one or neither of them, making it a lot harder to get signed up. As you have the choice, you’ll be able to be up and running in moments.
They also have an excellent rewards system in place, where you can earn more, the more you bet here. It’s all done via a levelling system, so you’ll level up the more you bet, and the higher you are, the better the rewards are. These include offers such as free bets and more.
You can also take advantage of a great welcome offer too when you first sign up. When you become a member and bet £10, you’ll get a £10 free bet to use. This is a great offer, particularly for punters that want to try the site out before they commit.
Do be aware though, if you want to claim the welcome offer you won’t be able to do it with an eWallet payment, which does include PayPal and Apple Pay. That’s something that you’ll have to consider before you sign up.
With all this in mind, it’s clear that BetDukes was designed with every punter’s needs in mind. It’s so easy to pay via eWallet, and there are so many rewards available to you. It’s well worth trying them out.
You can place a bet on almost anything these days but the fundamentals remain the same. Betting is when you put money down on the result of an event in the hopes of making a return in profit.
Over the years the betting industry has created various markets and sports to bet on and there are thousands of choices for a punter to choose from. Over time, the ways in which a player can deposit or withdraw their money from betting sites has adapted to suit a more electronic world and therefore many choose to use PayPal as one of their chosen methods.
Paypal is an e-wallet that is popular for sending and receiving money to an email address instead of a bank account. Previously, online stores and businesses had to wait for physical cheques to clear and money transfers to be finalised before completing orders. PayPal changed a lot of that. The history of PayPal began in 1998 when they created an online-only platform that allowed payments to move quickly and efficiently through a streamlined process. They allow users to create personal profiles connected to their bank accounts with an email address as the main form of user ID.
They are now one of the biggest money transfer platforms of their kind with over 340 million PayPal users around the world. So, it’s really no wonder why so many online sports betting sites are now making sure they are paypal compatible for deposits and withdrawals for their users.
In some instances, sports betting sites may specify that you may not have the same welcome offers available to you when using certain payment methods. This is not a standard rule and can often change throughout the course of the year. For example, William Hill has a current welcome offer where you bet £10 and receive £30 in free bets. However, as part of this particular offers’ terms, you will not qualify for the free bets if you deposit using PayPal. This is not a consistent rule as they have previously held offers without this restriction.
This is why it is extremely important to always read the terms and conditions of any offers you wish to take part in – especially if you wish to use a particular payment method like PayPal. It would certainly be a shame if you spent the time and effort depositing and betting in the hopes of getting free bets, only to discover your payment method would exclude you.
PROS of using PayPal | CONS of using PayPal |
24/7 customer service | Customer service often has long hold times |
Well-known and reputable | Not as many sites accept PayPal |
Don’t need to give bet site your card info | Less chance of welcome bonus if deposit with paypal |
Encrypted for secure transactions | Withdrawals can take longer to process |
Allows multiple cards in one account | |
Keep your funds separate from bank in e-wallet |
As you can see from the table above, there are many more positive reasons to use enjoy online betting with PayPal. With so few negative points to using Paypal it seems like a no brainer. The one downside is at present there are only a handful of options out of the vast number of betting sites in the UK that allow punters to use PayPal as a banking option. As the years progress however, more and more sites are adding PayPal to their payments methods.
PayPal takes the safety of your money and personal information very seriously. Not only does the site use smart, 128bit and SSL encryptions for all of their transactions, they are also one of the quickest money transfer platforms to block account access in the wake of fraudulent activity. This means that should you run into any issues, PayPal has got your back. They’ll freeze your account while they investigate and make sure your money is kept safe. This is much quicker than a bank in many cases!
Step #1: In order to use PayPal as a payment method on betting sites, you will first need to create a PayPal account. On the PayPal website homepage, click the “menu” button in the top left corner and then click “sign up”.
Step #2: You will need to select a personal account if you are hoping to use the account for betting. You will then be shown a page asking for your phone number. You will need to put your number in accurately since the next page will need a verification code sent to your device. The fourth page of the form is for you to put all of your personal information including: First & last name, email address and password to keep your account secure.
Step #3: Once you have created your password you will be brought to your account dashboard. You will now need to link a bank account and debit card. You can do this by clicking on “wallet” at the top of the screen. Once inside the wallet, you will see your balance and the option to link accounts.
Step #4: Once you are ready to link your bank account you will need to choose which bank you use and then follow the instructions to safely and securely link the two. This will involve logging into your online banking account so make sure you fill your details in correctly. Once you have followed each of the steps, PayPal will deposit a few pence into your account (mine was 0.03p) and you will need to input this amount into the verification box in your PayPal wallet to complete the bank connection. This deposit can take up to 4 days (bank dependent) so don’t be alarmed if it takes this long.
Step #1: Linking a bank card to your Paypal account uses many of the same steps as the bank verification. From the wallet page click on “link a card”. This will bring up a form to fill in like the one below. Once you have confirmed your details are correct you will go through a security check with your banking institution. This check could be done through your bank app or by logging on to the bank website. Once the steps are complete you will see a notification like the one below.
Step-by-step Guide:
For my example we will be using William Hill. So as we already know, Paypal is accepted here when making deposits and withdrawals.
Pro tip: If you are ever on a site and want to find out what payment methods you can use, head over to the FAQ section often found in the menu or the bottom of the homepage. This will answer any banking and payment questions you might have.
This is an image above from the banking page on the William Hill website. As you can see there are multiple different ways you can pay in and out of your betting account. You can view the full list here: https://www.williamhill.com/banking/
From the homepage, click the “Join” button at the top right hand corner of the screen. This will prompt you to start creating your account for the first time. This will open a form for you to start filling in your personal details. Once you fill in your address it will auto populate a few extra fields.
The next page will ask you to create account log in information including username, password and security questions. This is also where you have a chance to set your deposit limit for the first time. This is a safety measure to prevent unhealthy online gambling habits. This can be changed later on in your account settings.
After finalising your account you’ll find yourself back on the William Hill home page.
From here you will find a yellow button that says “deposit” next to your account balance in the top right-hand corner. Click deposit to start the process. You will then see a screen pop up with debit card information fields for you to fill as the automatic first option. On the left hand side, click the “PayPal” option to bring up the correct field for this deposit type.
From this screen you will need to input the cash amount that you want to deposit into the empty box. This will open a pop-up window prompting you to fill in your PayPal details.
Page 1: You will need to log into PayPal using your email and password
Page 2: You’ll need to choose which payment method to use from your PayPal account
Page 3: You will need to confirm and enter your card of choice’s security code (unless you select a bank deposit option).
Since William Hill requires you to use a PayPal account registered to your name with the same email, if you need to change your PayPal for whatever reason (ie. you have recently married and need to update both of your accounts) you will need to speak to customer service directly.
Step #4: Spending your deposit
Once you have successfully finished your deposit you will see a green verified tick on the PayPal screen and a notification that you can close the window and return to William Hill. You should see the money you have deposited in the account balance at the top right corner of the home page. You can now spend this money on bets of your choice.
Assuming you are logged in, from the homepage you will need to click on the cash button on the top right hand corner of the screen that shows a cash value. In my example below my cash value is £0.00 and is next to the “deposit” button. As you can see this brings up a menu under “my account”
From the “my account” menu, you’ll find “withdraw” to be the first clickable option out of the 8 buttons. Click withdraw to open a new page. This is where you will find a list of all your chosen withdrawal methods. If your balance is £0.00 then you will get the below message in red stating you do not have enough to withdraw. If you have any other balance you can simply choose your method and enter the cash value from your account. This money will then be received in up to 3-4 working days.
You might be wondering if there are any fees to use betting sites with PayPal but the truth is it is often free for the punter. There are only two ways that PayPal really makes money from its service and that is normally when sending money internationally or when different currencies are exchanged. In rare instances if you decide to top up your PayPal e-wallet using your credit card you might get a transaction fee so make sure you read the PayPal terms.
When you consider the low fees when people use their debit cards to make betting deposits, PayPal needs to compete in order to keep customers. In order to entice users to continue using them, they need to waive the fees for the player. In many instances there will be an operator fee but that is covered by the betting platform itself – which is great news for you!
Using PayPal for online purchases and transactions has been around for a number of years but it has only in more recent times started to be used in the betting industry.
It is gradually becoming one of the most popular payment methods due to its quick and secure transactions as well as ease of use. No longer do you need to have your bank cards on you to deposit money into your betting account provided your PayPal wallet is up to date.
Based on the fast rate that the platform has been growing in the betting world, I wouldn’t be surprised if we find more and more PayPal gambling sites. Let’s see what the future of the industry brings.
